Police Nab Child Trafficker In Asaba, Recover 12 Kids

The Delta State Police Command says it has recovered 12 children from a lady who specialises in child trafficking in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
Simply identified as 'Abigail', ‎the woman, popularly called 'Madam Cash', was arrested by the police last Monday, at her bar, at Umuaji Kings Street.
The bar, our correspondent learnt was destroyed by irate youth when it was discovered that she was running a human trafficking cartel.
The Tide learnt that the woman was arrested three months ago when a child was found in her car by the police.
It was learnt that the lady had bribed the police with a whopping N2.5 million, when operatives attempted to interrogate her, thereby securing her bail through the back door.
But mothers from different Delta communities had stormed the police headquarters on Okpanam Road, Asaba, with photos and birth certificates, insisting that the woman knows the whereabouts of the missing children.
This led to the subsequent re-arrest of the woman.‎
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Celestina Kalu, told newsmen in Asaba, that the case was currently under investigation.
